Board-Certified Winnetka and Evanston Orthodontist
Patrick Brady, MS, DMD
Background
Dr. Brady grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago where he attended Fenwick High School.
He excelled academically and athletically, achieving all-state in baseball and football. He also won a state championship in the Fed Challenge, an economic competition.
Education
Dr. Brady headed south to attend Davidson College on a baseball scholarship and earned a BS in Psychology. While still a student, he met his wife Misty, who played on the field hockey team.
He considered pursuing medicine after graduating but found a love for dentistry. Dentistry allows you to create not only beautiful smiles but also form lifelong bonds with patients and their families.
Dr. Brady decided to continue his education and earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. While in Dental School, he was a Dean’s Scholar and joined the Delphi Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon academic honor societies.
Dr. Brady also discovered a passion for orthodontics. He was amazed at the transformation that happens during treatment. The self-esteem and confidence from a beautiful smile are life-changing.
Dr. Brady returned to the midwest to attend the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he received his master's and Certificate of Orthodontics.
As an orthodontic student, Dr. Brady presented research at national meetings for the American Dental Education Association, the American Association of Orthodontics.
Outside the Office
Dr. Brady’s wife Misty is originally from Virginia Beach. It took some arm twisting, but he eventually got her to move back to the Chicago suburbs where he grew up.
As part of the deal, they moved close to field hockey, so Misty could coach. They were lucky enough to land in the Northshore. They live in Northfield with their son Walter and daughter Wren.
Misty has coached with Windy City Field Hockey since 2017 and became the head coach at Loyola Academy in 2019.
Dr. Brady recently began teaching at the orthodontic residency program at UIC once or twice a month. Dr. Brady was an early adopter for KLOwen custom braces and wanted to teach the residents how the use the new system. The braces have been a game changer for his practice and he wants to share his experience with the residents.
Because Dr. Brady doesn’t have many other hobbies besides teeth he recently started the process to join a national orthodontic study club called the Angle Society. You have to pass a series of more difficult tests in order to be accepted. Some of the biggest names in orthodontics are in the study club. It’s a lot of work, but it will benefit our patients.
Board Certified
This education and experience gave Dr. Brady the foundation to achieve board certification from the American Board of Orthodontics.
Only 33% of orthodontics reach this milestone. This means you can be sure that you’re getting top-quality care.
