Your Wilmette Orthodontist
Meet Dr. Patrick Brady
Dr. Brady received his BS in psychology from Davidson College, his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and his Masters and Certificate in Orthodontics from University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He is an ABO certified orthodontist and provides top-quality care to each and every patient.
At dental school, Dr. Brady was a Dean’s Scholar and was accepted to both the Delphi Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, academic honor societies. Dr. Brady has presented research at national meetings for both the American Dental Education Association and the American Association of Orthodontists.
Why an Wilmette Orthodontist? Orthodontist vs. Dentist. An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist.
Not every dentist is qualified to be an orthodontist, even though every orthodontist starts as a dentist. Dr. Patrick Brady, like all orthodontists, continued their education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. Dr. Patrick Brady has spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth, as have all orthodontists. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the necessary treatment plan for you.
Why does it matter if you see your Wilmette Orthodontist?
Dentists receive basic orthodontic training so they can perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who don’t need to see an orthodontist yet. Specialists, on the other hand, receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic issues.
Seeing a specialist like a Wilmette Orthodontist may change your braces experience by:
- Providing more treatment options, with a variety of braces or therapies to choose from
- Having personal experience treating multiple cases that are similar to your unique concerns and anatomical characteristics.
- More efficient treatment and visits, because it’s the office’s main focus.
- Knowing that you’ll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have worse than usual bite discrepancies that need to be dealt with
- Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.
While you may think it’s easier to have your orthodontic work done by your dentist, convenience shouldn’t be a barrier to seeing a specialist. You will only be stopping by your Wilmette orthodontic offices every six to eight weeks.
Testimonials from Wilmette Orthodontist patients
I had my first visit with Dr. Brady this week for a consultation to see my son needed braces and possibly a night guard. I had a list of orthodontists to choose from which were provide by our pediatric dentist. I choose to visit Dr. Brady based on the great reviews that are already out there and the amount of information and details provided on their web site. I was impressed with not only the cleanliness of the office but also how accommodating the entire staff was. I had my 3-year-old daughter with me and they had enough in the office to keep her entertained so I could concentrate on my oldest son's appointment and the information provided. Dr. Brady was very detailed in his explanation of the various teeth and in what situations a child would need braces. Overall we had a great experience and I would recommend Dr. Brady and his office. - Kimberly
Dr. Brady and his staff are fantastic. I came in to inquire about Invisalign since I have been interested in the procedure for a while. I was greeted and treated well as soon as I walked in the door. Dr. Brady explained the whole process to me and even showed me the steps of the process through a computer program. After Dr. Brady walked me through the process, I meet with another staff member that took molds and x-rays of my teeth. She was very polite and very efficient. After this, I was walked over to discuss my financial obligations with the benefits coordinator. And I had a very informed and professional conversation with her too. I can not say enough good things about this practice. I felt cared for and I knew this was the right place for me after I walked out of the door from my first visit. Thank you for a great experience!
Dr. Brady and his team are top-notch. While I had braces as a teenager, we weren't told back then the importance of wearing retainers. Needless to say, my teeth shifted. After a consult with Dr. Brady for Invisalign, in which he took the time to explain how the process would work and showed me a 3D image of how my teeth could look after the process was done, I decided to move forward with the treatment. I am happy with the results and would highly recommend Dr. Brady and his team to anyone (children and adults)! - Brandy
